The UBT 3000 is the latest type of electronic RPM adapter in the UBT series. The UBT 3000 incorporates a vibration sensor counter and battery / alternator signal counter in one compact and modern device.

The UBT 3000 is mod
ern in design, extremely easy to operate and uses advanced technology. In the UBT two different technologies are combined: the battery / alternator ripple voltage and the engine vibration technology. The UBT 3000 actually comprises two electronic RPM counters in a new, compact device.

The UBT 3000 is the latest type of electronic engine speed tachometer from the TEN UBT series. The UBT has a modern design, is easy to operate and incorporates the latest advanced technologies. In the UBT 3000 two technologies are combined:

  • The battery voltage ripple technology
  • The engine vibration technology

The two technologies are not combined at the same time. The UBT measures the engine speed by the battery noise technology or measures the speed by the vibration technology. In fact the UBT incorporates two electronic tacho meters in one new and compact designed device. The UBT 3000 uses advanced

electronics with DSP technology. The DSP (Digital Signal  Processing) processor is able to analyse complex signals in a split second and to calculate the base frequency of the measured signal. This base frequency (the first harmonic) is directly related to the engine speed.

This applies both for the battery voltage ripple as for the motor vibrations. The measured engine speed is displayed on the integrated LCD display. The UBT 3000 can therefore be used stand alone. However if you use the UBT in conjunction with the TEN emission equipment, the data is forwarded via the connection cable to your tester, the INNOVA or EDA smokemeter. The UBT has two membrane keys that allow you to control the UBT, simple and fast. One key to select the

measurement mode  (battery or vibration) and one keys to set number of cylinders. More simply is not possible. Besides the engine speed the UBT can also measure the engine temperature. For this purpose, a temperature probe is included. If you use the UBT stand alone, you can use this facility. However, if you combine the UBT with the TEN emission equipment you do not need to connect the temperature probe. Your INNOVA or EDA already has an oil temperature probe for MOT measurements.
