The EDA 500 is a new high performance diesel smoke analyser incorporating the very latest fully digital processing technology for quick and accurate measurement of diesel vehicle emissions. This diesel exhaust analyser can be used for inspection of all kinds of diesel engine vehicles and has been specifically developed to provide the user with a maximum scope of available diagnostic data.
The EDA 500 is very easy to handle. It's divided into two parts, the smoke chamber and a presentation unit. Besides opacity also the oil temperature, RPM and cell temperature are displayed on large and very bright LED-displays.
The unique optical system and natural flow of the exhaust sample through the smoke meter prevents deposits of carbon and pollutants which results in a virtually maintenance free smoke meter. The EDA 500s smoke chamber is completely made of aluminium to avoid corrosion and mechanical deformation, but to assure an optimal heat conduction. Together with the accurate and robust optical components, we guarantee a high quality and accurate measurement.
The EDA uses the partial flow principle. Only a part of the exhaust gasses is going through the smoke chamber. Compared to a full-flow analyser this means we were able to construct a more compact design. To avoid condensation and decompression of the gasses, the EDA2 is equipped with a powerful self-regulating heating system that keeps the smoke chamber temperature constantly at 100 °C.
To evaluate the test results, the EDA 500 has a build-in thermal printer. Overall the EDA 500 is probably the most versatile and user-friendliest diesel smoke analyser currently on the market. With proven reliability and a competitive price, the EDA 500 is a sound investment for the future.
